What is the difference between Dance and Dancing? Dance is something I watch, dancing is something I do. The former is fairly passive, the latter can be very active.
I like to watch many kinds of dance: performance, competitive and even social dance. I have learned a great deal about dancing by watching others dance. When I say others, I don't mean just professionals who dance all day every day; I also include amateurs who just dance occasionally for the fun of it.
While are many forms of dance I like to watch, at this point, I pretty much limit my personal dancing to social dancing - swing, rhumba, waltz, foxtrot and such, what is often called "ballroom dancing".
